How We Prepare and Paint Your Home’s Exterior

A quality exterior paint job starts with a clean surface. We pressure the surfaces to be painted to remove dirt, debris, and loose, flaking paint. This creates a clean foundation for proper paint adhesion and helps support a durable, long lasting finish.

After pressure washing, we scrape away any remaining loose or peeling paint and sand rough edges as needed. This helps create a sound surface for the new coating and a smoother transition between bare areas and existing paint.

We will fill minor stucco cracks with an elastomeric patching compound and complete any additional stucco repairs included in your estimate. This prepares damaged areas for painting and helps create a more uniform finish.

We apply premium exterior caulk to gaps and joints around windows, doors, and facia where needed. This helps limit moisture intrusion and creates clean transitions for painting, while keeping intended drainage openings clear.

We carefully mask, windows, doors, and trim that are not being painted. Nearby surfaces, landscaping, and walkways are covered as needed to protect them from paint splatter and overspray.

Primer helps promote paint adhesion, seals pour surfaces, and create a uniform foundation for finish coats. We assess your homes exterior and identify areas that require priming. When a full primer coat is recommended, but not required by the surface condition or selected coating, we offer it as an optional item in your estimate and explain its benefits, so you can make an informed decision.

For excellent coverage, we apply paint both horizontally and vertically. If your contract specifies we may also back roll or apply a second coat as well.
